Before you inspect
Will a drain camera clear the blockage?
No. It is an inspection tool. A fully blocked line may need professional cleaning before the camera can pass or provide a useful view. Never force the head through an obstruction.
Can it inspect corrugated or perforated drainage pipe?
Access depends on the actual internal diameter, bends, joints, deposits and camera-head dimensions. Corrugations and sharp turns can restrict travel. Check compatibility with Powerwill before selecting a system.
Does the distance counter tell me how deep the pipe is?
No. Cable travel is not burial depth. A compatible sonde and receiver can help estimate the camera head's position and depth, subject to signal conditions. This does not map every buried utility or replace utility locating before excavation.
What if the yard floods but there is no buried drain?
A pipe camera needs an accessible pipe to inspect. Surface grading, soil infiltration and drainage capacity require a drainage assessment. Even a clear pipe does not prove the system can handle a storm.
