PRODUCT QUESTIONS
Check pipe fit, understand the features, and get support for your order.
Pipe size, bends and usable reach
The pipe-fit guide on this page recommends 1¼ inches or larger for straight runs and 2 inches or larger for long-sweep 90° bends. A short-radius 90° bend is not recommended. Check the pipe’s actual inside diameter and the widest part of the complete camera assembly. Covers and centering guides need extra clearance, and passage through any bend is not guaranteed.
Check my pipe setupFor long-sweep 90° bends, 2-inch or larger pipe is recommended. Short-radius 90° bends are not recommended. Advance slowly through a long-sweep bend and stop if resistance increases. Check the actual pipe inside diameter and the full camera assembly, including any guide; bend passage is never guaranteed.
Use a suitable cleanout rather than pushing through fixture traps. Kitchen sink P-traps, shower traps and the trap inside an installed toilet are not suitable entry routes for this system. If no usable cleanout is available, have a plumber assess another access point and the pipe route.
The PW10DX1 is offered with 200 ft / 60 m or 246 ft / 75 m. Usable reach can be shorter because bends, buildup and the access point affect travel. Estimate the pipe route from the cleanout, not the straight-line distance across the property, and choose a cable with enough margin.
Stop pushing. Never use the camera to force open a blockage. If the cable moves freely, ease it back without sharp bends. Check for a more suitable entry point. If it is trapped or pulling increases resistance, stop and contact support or a drain professional.
Get help with a stuck cameraRecurring clogs and what you can see
It can help you check for visible causes such as remaining buildup, root intrusion or a damaged joint in the accessible part of the line. Record what you find before deciding on more cleaning or a repair. The camera inspects the pipe; it does not clear the blockage.
Yes—when the camera can reach the area and the pipe wall is visible. It can document these conditions, but heavy deposits or standing water may hide defects. It cannot see beyond an obstruction or prove that an apparently intact pipe is leak-free.
Before cleaning, an inspection may show what is restricting the line. If a blockage prevents safe access or a useful view, cleaning may be needed first. An inspection afterward helps document the visible result. Remove the camera before operating drain-cleaning equipment.
Not necessarily. Cloudy water, sewage and debris can block the view even when the camera head is working. Brighter LEDs do not make opaque water transparent. The line may need to be cleared before you can get a useful view of the pipe wall.
Sonde, receiver, counter and footage
You can view and record the pipe without a locator. If you need to mark the camera head’s position above ground, choose a configuration with a compatible 512Hz locator receiver. The receiver detects a matching sonde signal; it does not automatically map the entire pipe. Accuracy depends on site conditions.
A “With 512Hz Locator” option includes the handheld receiver; a “Without 512Hz Locator” option does not include the receiver. Check the complete option name in your cart before checkout. Ask support to confirm compatibility if you plan to use a receiver you already own.
No. The distance counter estimates how much cable has been fed from the reference point. It does not show burial depth or surface position. Above-ground locating requires a compatible sonde and receiver.
Yes. The PW10DX1 DVR records inspection footage. Review or export saved files as described in its manual. For useful job records, note the property, access point, inspection date and any relevant cable-distance reading.
Self-leveling helps keep the displayed pipe image upright as the camera head rotates. It does not steer the head or help it force its way around a bend. Pipe access and bend limits still apply.
Cleaning, replacement parts and repairs
No. The camera head is intended for wet pipe inspections, but keep the monitor, control unit, battery and connectors dry. After use, turn the system off, wipe the cable and clean the lens as directed in the manual, then let parts dry before storage. Do not hose down the complete system.
