Great product!!!!
Very good camera for the price
Works well. I love the auto-leveling feature. Note the Charge mode on the selector switch that must be used to charge the battery.
I like easy it is to use
I’m a plumber and I can’t afford to get the overrated cameras out there, this camera is a good good investment.
My husband started a plumbing business a little over a year ago and was being asked to do sewer scopes but we didn't have the equipment or money to invest in an expensive one. We decided to take a chance on this one and have zero regrets. He has used it several times and has made his money back already. The picture quality is actually really good and not grainy. Takes clear photos. The hose/camera glides easily yhrpugh obstacles and rolls back up nicely. The camera end of the hose has a bright light which really helps the camera pick up a clear picture. The 2 cases connect so it's all one cohesive unit. He really likes that it doesn't take up a ton of space. It also lets you know you're depth which is nice. If you're looking for an inexpensive but good quality sewer camera you should really consider this one. It gets the job done! Easy to use and durable!
Worked wonderful. We had busted pipes under cement and needed to know how bad. We did that without tearing up the concrete due to the locator.
This camera is so worth the buy! Great quality, easy to use , lightweight and gets the job done! Definitely worth the money for sure!
The machine was very easy to for the camera , good picture on the screen . The locater have not used but once but it did get us where we needed to be that time. overall I am happy with the product
Tested it on my own drain line could not access my main drain from curb it would not angle right a little too stiff on Cable. Good picture quality compact size easy to set up and use
I thought that the image quality was very good, and the camera managed to keep orientation throughout use. The lighting is bright and works well. We ran it through a 4" waste line without issue. It will have issues with major twists and turns, but it does well through most straight runs. We also ran it through a 2" pipe without issue. Overall, the features are quite nice. I did think that the locater could use a little bit of help as it is very simply built and kind of cheap feeling. The main unit is a great addition to our tool set!
The SEWER CAMERA WITH LOCATOR is undeniably an exceptional diagnostic tool that has transformed the way I run my plumbing business. Its precision, real-time visuals, problem-solving capabilities, and efficiency have made it an indispensable asset in my toolkit. Beyond its technical advantages, this tool has helped me build trust, credibility, and strong relationships with my clients. If you own a plumbing business or are involved in the plumbing industry, I highly recommend investing in the SEWER CAMERA WITH LOCATOR. It is a game-changer that will elevate your services, enhance your reputation, and contribute to the growth and success of your business.
Camera works amazing and is easy to use. The locator is a bit archaic but does what it's supposed to do.
Great camera… does everything I need! Definitely recommend 100%
Works great very clear video and love the distance counter
Withstands daily professional use. Worth the investment for any serious plumbing business.
Tough cable handles daily abuse. Been using mine for 8 months through all kinds of nasty pipes - still going strong
Reduced diagnostic time by 70%. Clear imaging helps us give accurate quotes to clients instantly.
It works well. Picture on the screen is clear even in sunlight.Controls are simple and intuitive. It is well designed for the rough conditions this equipment might be subjected to. PROBLEM ( otherwise I would have given 6 stars!) : in 2" or smaller pipework the sharp, leading edge of the forward circumference of the camera catches on the edge of pipe inside fittings. This means you are unable to push the camera past the first lateral or Wye that you reach. If the blockage is beyond that point you won't be able to reach it. In larger diameter pipes just fit the red shroud (mine was missing !)or wheels and it will 'jump' over the edge of the pipe. In theory you can fit the shroud. SOLUTION: Manufacturer should bevel the leading edge of the circumference of the camera so it easily 'jumps' the edge of the pipe inside fittings. Just pushing the cable harder may buckle the flexible portion of the camera where it screws into the cable.Twisting and turning the cable is ineffective.
The camera light flickers. The camera head sent seems defective
So far so good! All the functions seem to work as advertised. The display is crystal clear, the camera picks up a very fine details, and the self leveling feature is a game changer. If you're debating, whether or not you really need the self level option, you'll kick yourself in the butt, if you don't. It's not that it's just nice to have it's pretty much a necessity.
Works as advertised and is extremely easy to use. I used it to examine a 100' culvert that runs under an earthen dam and to look at the gate valve and other works on the front of the dam. I had some (anticipated) difficulty seeing all of the screen images in the bright sunlight but it was much better than the last one I used with my computer. I was able to identify the leak in the culvert and see other details clearly. The only two shortcomings I saw were that the camera head apparently leaked somewhat under about 15 feet of water (approx. 8 psi) which resulted in water condensing inside the camera lens which made for foggy viewing after some time. The threaded coupling where the camera head is attached also leaked water into the electrical connections which corrupted the video. I used some silicone electrical grease on the joint to keep water out on later runs which seemed to work well. I will probably return it for an exchange and figure out how to water-proof the camera head.
I’m a home inspector and the cost of a high-end sewer scope can be over $10,000. I was surprised at the quality of this scope. I will put it through its paces and update this review if I can or cannot stand the test of time. One thing to know this scope does not have audio recording. I workaround is to record the audio on your phone, then use free apps to then overlap the audio onto the sewer scope video. I’ve come to find out that most clients do not watch the video. They only wanna know what is wrong with the sewer line.
Arrived as expected, seems of good quality. Nice picture, will need to use longer to comment on longevity of battery life.
Good company, good piece of equipment! It was delivered without issue and works as I thought it would.
This thing works great! It feels really solid and well made, and the screen is clear and easy to read. I also love that it's battery-powered because it made the job so much easier without having to deal with cords. The automatic leveling feature is a total game changer—it saves a lot of time and makes everything much easier. Overall, I'm really happy with it and would definitely recommend it.
I dont normally write reviews, but having to call out a plumber multiple times and pay exorbitant call out fees and even more exorbitant camera scope fees, I bought this camera, because it can also be used for looking behind walls or in areas you cant get to or see. I cant believe what a fantastic product this is, the camera picture, and screen quality are amazing, the screen is huge, mixed well, sturdy, and comes with everything you need. I definitely recommend this for people that might have plumbing or there building ongoing issues. The price of a call out and camera scope x 1, and we can use it for multiple things.
So far so good. I have used it pretty heavily over the weekend and the battery seems to last a good while. Make sure you throw it on the charger when you get it. Mine wasnt dead but it wasnt fully charged. I threw it on the charger for a few and I was good to go. The picture is crisp, it seems durable. I wasnt sure whether to get the 5mm cable or 7mm. I read alot about 7mm being superior but the price for the 5mm was too good to pass up. So far it has been pushed out the whole way with no real issue. I can see why 7mm is preferred but the 5mm cable is stiff enough for what I am doing. The only real problem is the dial for the LED brightness, the knob only rotates 3/4 of a turn which is no big deal but the first half turn doesnt do anything, and then the last 1/4 turn is all that really adjusts the brightness. Not sure if thats normal or not.
PRODUCT QUESTIONS
Check pipe fit, understand the features, and get support for your order.
Pipe size, bends and usable reach
The pipe-fit guide on this page recommends 1¼ inches or larger for straight runs and 2 inches or larger for long-sweep 90° bends. A short-radius 90° bend is not recommended. Check the pipe’s actual inside diameter and the widest part of the complete camera assembly. Covers and centering guides need extra clearance, and passage through any bend is not guaranteed.
Check my pipe setupFor long-sweep 90° bends, 2-inch or larger pipe is recommended. Short-radius 90° bends are not recommended. Advance slowly through a long-sweep bend and stop if resistance increases. Check the actual pipe inside diameter and the full camera assembly, including any guide; bend passage is never guaranteed.
Use a suitable cleanout rather than pushing through fixture traps. Kitchen sink P-traps, shower traps and the trap inside an installed toilet are not suitable entry routes for this system. If no usable cleanout is available, have a plumber assess another access point and the pipe route.
The PW9D1 is offered with 65 ft / 20 m, 100 ft / 30 m, or 165 ft / 50 m. Usable reach can be shorter because bends, buildup and the access point affect travel. Estimate the pipe route from the cleanout, not the straight-line distance across the property, and choose a cable with enough margin.
Stop pushing. Never use the camera to force open a blockage. If the cable moves freely, ease it back without sharp bends. Check for a more suitable entry point. If it is trapped or pulling increases resistance, stop and contact support or a drain professional.
Get help with a stuck cameraRecurring clogs and what you can see
It can help you check for visible causes such as remaining buildup, root intrusion or a damaged joint in the accessible part of the line. Record what you find before deciding on more cleaning or a repair. The camera inspects the pipe; it does not clear the blockage.
Yes—when the camera can reach the area and the pipe wall is visible. It can document these conditions, but heavy deposits or standing water may hide defects. It cannot see beyond an obstruction or prove that an apparently intact pipe is leak-free.
Before cleaning, an inspection may show what is restricting the line. If a blockage prevents safe access or a useful view, cleaning may be needed first. An inspection afterward helps document the visible result. Remove the camera before operating drain-cleaning equipment.
Not necessarily. Cloudy water, sewage and debris can block the view even when the camera head is working. Brighter LEDs do not make opaque water transparent. The line may need to be cleared before you can get a useful view of the pipe wall.
Sonde, receiver, counter and footage
You can view and record the pipe without a locator. If you need to mark the camera head’s position above ground, choose a configuration with a compatible 512Hz locator receiver. The receiver detects a matching sonde signal; it does not automatically map the entire pipe. Accuracy depends on site conditions.
A “With 512Hz Locator” option includes the handheld receiver; a “Without 512Hz Locator” option does not include the receiver. Check the complete option name in your cart before checkout. Ask support to confirm compatibility if you plan to use a receiver you already own.
No. Cable markings show the approximate amount fed into the pipe, not the camera head’s burial depth or surface position. Above-ground locating requires a compatible sonde and receiver.
Yes. The PW9D1 DVR records inspection footage. Review or export saved files as described in its manual. For useful job records, note the property, access point, inspection date and any relevant cable-distance reading.
Self-leveling helps keep the displayed pipe image upright as the camera head rotates. It does not steer the head or help it force its way around a bend. Pipe access and bend limits still apply.
Cleaning, replacement parts and repairs
No. The camera head is intended for wet pipe inspections, but keep the monitor, control unit, battery and connectors dry. After use, turn the system off, wipe the cable and clean the lens as directed in the manual, then let parts dry before storage. Do not hose down the complete system.
